Les chiots sont d'adorables boules d'énergie qui apportent enthousiasme et bonheur dans nos vies. Les jeunes chiots sont curieux du monde qui les entoure. Utilisant leurs sens pour explorer leur environnement, ils sont impatients de vivre tout ce qu'ils peuvent.
Cela peut nous amener à nous demander s'ils peuvent entendre les mêmes choses que nous. On sait que les chiens ont un plus grand sens de l'audition que les humains, mais à quel âge cette audition se développe-t-elle ? Quand les chiots commencent-ils à entendre ?
Les chiots naissent sourds et ne développent le sens de l'ouïe qu'à l'âge de 3 semaines environ.
Naissance du chiot
Lorsque les chiots naissent, ils ne peuvent ni voir ni entendre. Leurs yeux et leurs conduits auditifs sont fermés. Ils ont les sens du toucher, du goût et de l'odorat, et ce sens se développe davantage à mesure qu'ils grandissent.
Les chiots dépendent entièrement de leur mère pendant les 2 premières semaines de leur vie. Ils ont besoin d'être nourris et gardés au chaud car ils ne peuvent pas naviguer seuls dans le monde.

Les chiots peuvent commencer à différencier les sons et apprendre à comprendre leurs noms vers l'âge de 5 à 7 semaines. Leur audition ne sera pas complètement développée avant l'âge de 2 mois environ.

Il a à voir avec l'évolution. Les chiots naissent avec deux sens vitaux, et sont totalement inutilisables pendant les premières semaines de leur vie.
Lorsque l'espèce canine évoluait, des meutes de chiens sauvages vivaient ensemble, chassant et cherchant de la nourriture. Les chiennes enceintes portant des portées de chiots se déplaçaient plus lentement et ne pouvaient pas efficacement suivre le rythme ou faire leur part pour la meute. Il était dans le meilleur intérêt de l’espèce que les chiens aient une période de gestation plus courte, pendant laquelle les chiots continueraient à se développer en dehors de l’utérus. Cela a permis à la chienne de redevenir un élément utile de la meute et de distancer les prédateurs. Entre les activités de chasse, la chienne pourrait retourner allaiter etprendre soin de leurs petits à mesure qu'ils grandissent.

Il peut être difficile de savoir si votre chiot entend correctement. Si vous avez une chienne avec des chiots nouveau-nés, ils devraient réagir aux sons à l'âge de 3 semaines. À mesure qu'ils grandissent, ils devraient réagir davantage aux bruits de leur environnement.
À l'âge de 8 semaines, les chiots devraient avoir un sens de l'ouïe pleinement développé, et c'est généralement à ce moment-là qu'ils commencent à se rendre dans leur nouvelle maison. À cet âge, votre chiot doit réagir à votre voix et vous pourrez attirer son attention en parlant.
