Centre de table en forme de pommier de Williamsburg pour votre table de Noël

Lorsque j'ai posté une tablescape de Noël il y a quelques semaines, j'ai reçu plusieurs questions sur la façon dont j'avais réalisé la pièce maîtresse de l'arbre fruitier. Même si Noël est passé, j’ai pensé qu’il pourrait être utile de voir comment c’est fait, juste au cas où vous voudriez en faire un l’année prochaine. Honnêtement, je pense que ce serait beau pour n'importe quelle occasion, pas seulement pour Noël. Donc, pour ce Tablescape Tuesday, je partage le « secret » de cette pièce maîtresse entièrement naturelle, y compris les bougeoirs en forme d'ananas des deux côtés.

...et quelques feuilles de magnolia du grand magnolia arbre dans ma cour avant.
Vous aurez besoin d'un ananas pour le sommet de l'arbre. J'en ai acheté 3 car j'aime aussi avoir les bougeoirs ananas de chaque côté. Et bien sûr, vous aurez besoin de petites pommes Red Delicious. J'utilise toujours Red Delicious parce que j'aime leur couleur rouge profond pour cette pièce maîtresse.
L'un des composants les plus importants est un formulaire qu'un de mes amis m'a offert comme cadeau de Noël. 15 ans il y a. Elle savait que je voulais depuis longtemps faire un pommier comme ceux que l’on voit si souvent en visitant Colonial Williamsburg. La forme que j’ai est une structure en bois en forme de cône peinte en vert, avec des clous de finition dépassant tout autour. Il y en a un très longclou et trois clous plus courts sur le dessus. Je n'ai pas pensé à prendre de photos lorsque j'ai assemblé l'arbre pour la première fois en décembre. Le 12... J'étais trop occupé à paniquer à propos des plus de 25 voisins qui allaient arriver pour une fête de biscuits chez moi deux jours plus tard ! 🙂 J'ai donc pris quelques photos dimanche dernier, en démontant l'arbre. Le fruit a un peu dépassé son apogée sur la photo ci-dessous, car il a quelques semaines... alors essayez de l'ignorer. 🙂 Le pommier a normalement fière allure pendant environ une semaine et demie... puis les choses commencent à se flétrir un peu.
Lors du premier assemblage de l'arbre, je commence par placer les pommes sur l'arbre. Je pousse les pommes sur les clous, faisant tourner l'arbre encore et encore pendant que je travaille. Je commence toujours par le bas et je progresse vers le haut. Si vous utilisez des pommes trop grosses, vous manquerez de place. Cela ne fonctionne tout simplement pas bien et vous vous retrouvez avec des pommes qui ne s'ajustent pas correctement et qui dépassent bien au-delà du sommet de l'arbre. Une fois les pommes en place, j'enfonce un petit ananas sur les ongles du haut. Dans la photo ci-dessous, vous pouvez voir à quoi ressemble l'arbre avec juste les pommes en place et sans verdure.
Ensuite, je coupe de courts morceaux de houx et les place entre tous. les pommes pour cacher le formulaire en dessous. J'utilise Holly parce que c'est ce que jeavoir à disposition dans ma cour ; le buis fonctionnerait également très bien. Le houx reste beau pendant longtemps. En fait, il avait toujours l'air bien avant de le retirer pour cette photo.
Une fois que j'ai l'arbre au centre de la table, je place les feuilles de magnolia sous la base. Je place les feuilles de magnolia de manière à ce qu'elles soient pointées vers l'extérieur, un peu comme les rayons d'une roue. Cette année, j’ai noué un ruban/nœud transparent autour du sommet de l’ananas. J’aime vraiment son apparence, donc je pense que je réutiliserai cette idée l’année prochaine. 🙂
J'ai trouvé un excellent article en ligne qui raconte l'histoire des arbres fruitiers/cônes de Williamsburg. Il montre également de superbes photos d'arbres utilisant d'autres types de fruits comme des poires, des citrons, des kumquats et des oranges pommées. Quelques conseils : Vous souhaitez acheter un ananas relativement petit, pour la cime de l'arbre. Sinon, l'arbre lui-même sera submergé.
Vous devrez peut-être magasiner pour trouver des ananas « jolis » sans feuillage écrasé. Quand je faisais mes courses chez Publix, ils n'avaient qu'environ 3-4 ananas... et ils avaient tous l'air trop gros et écrasés. J'ai demandé au responsable des produits s'il en avait d'autres et il en a sorti une boîte entière. Ilsavait l'air beaucoup mieux et les sommets étaient en meilleur état. 🙂
Les bougeoirs ananas (voir photo ci-dessous) de chaque côté du pommier sont réalisés avec un « kit » que j'ai acheté il y a environ 17 ans lors d'une visite de Noël à domicile. La visite à domicile était sponsorisée par le magazine Traditional Home et comme j'étais abonné, ils m'ont envoyé deux billets gratuits. 🙂 Après avoir visité ce magnifique manoir historique d'Atlanta, nous avons fait du shopping dans la « tente » de la boutique de cadeaux qu'ils avaient installée derrière la maison.
J'ai trouvé ce « kit » de bougeoir dans le petite tente de boutique de cadeaux et j'en ai acheté deux.
Il y a une base sur laquelle vous poussez l'ananas. L'autre morceau que vous voyez sur la photo ici est poussé vers le centre de l'ananas... ta-dah... bougeoir instantané.
Il n'y a pas beaucoup d'informations. sur la boîte, mais j'ai pris une photo juste au cas où vous voudriez regarder en ligne si celles-ci sont toujours en fabrication. Il semble que ceux-ci aient été fabriqués par une société appelée Carnevale en 1991.

J'adore cette pièce maîtresse et je la fais chaque année pour ma fête de Noël annuelle. Le pommier fonctionnerait bien n’importe où dans la maison. Je pourrais le voir sur une grande table basse dans une salle familiale... ou peut-être comme point focal sur lecomptoir dans une cuisine.
