Oui, les Pointers sont des chiens sociables qui s'entendent bien avec les autres chiens et même les chats lorsqu'ils ont été correctement élevés et socialisés. Ils peuvent être un peu énergiques, alors assurez-vous que vos chiens sont compatibles à cet égard, sinon votre chien à faible énergie pourrait se retrouver avec un dresseur de chiens personnel ! Cependant, une cour seule n'est pas un exercice en soi ! Si votre chien ne fait pas assez d'exercice et/ou de stimulation mentale, il vous le fera savoir. Les chaussures mâchouillées et les gouffres dans votre cour seront les indices, alors prenez de l'avance en vidant votre pointeur avant qu'il ne soit frustré.

Physiquement, les braques mâles grandissent mais plus lentement que les femelles. Les mâles mesurent entre 23 et 25 pouces de hauteur et pèsent entre 55 et 70 livres, tandis que les femelles sont plus petites, entre 21 et 23 pouces de hauteur et entre 45 et 55 livres.
