Le chien de Canaan a un double pelage mais ne perd que modérément ses poils (et principalement une fois par an). Donc,les brosser quelques fois par semaine devrait suffire, sauf pendant la période de mue où ils doivent être brossés quotidiennement. L’avantage de cette race est qu’elle n’a pas tendance à devenir très sale ou malodorante (à moins qu’elle ne se roule dans quelque chose), vous n’avez donc pas besoin de la baigner aussi souvent que certaines autres races. Le seul autre toilettage que vous devriez faire pour votre chiot est de lui brosser les dents régulièrement et de garder ses ongles coupés.

Et il existe des preuves archéologiquesque Canaan existait à l’époque où la Bible a été écrite. 700 squelettes de chiens ont été découverts près de Tel-Aviv et remontent au 5ème siècle avant JC, et il existe des gravures rupestres du 1er siècle dans le Sinaï qui représentent la race.
2. Vous trouverez également des dessins de ces chiens dans les tombes.
Les tombes de l'ancien cimetière égyptien connu sous le nom de Beni-Hasan contenaient des œuvres d'art qui ressemblent à Canaan. Les dessins remontent à 2200-2000 avant JC.
3. Le Canaan s'appelait Kelef Kanani dans ses premières années.
C'est le nom que portait la race dans les temps anciens au Moyen-Orient. "Kelef Kanani" est l'hébreu et se traduit par "Chien de Canaan".
