Qu'est-ce que l'euthanasie ?
Le terme euthanasie dérive du mot grec « eu », qui signifie bon, et « thanatos », signifiant la mort. Une bonne mort serait celle qui se produit avec un minimum de douleur et de souffrance.

La décision d'euthanasier votre chien doit être prise si votre animal souffre et doit être prise avec votre vétérinaire. Il existe des cas où des chiens atteints de certains types de cancer ou de membres amputés peuvent avoir une qualité de vie acceptable s'ils reçoivent le traitement approprié. Les vétérinaires ne sont pas pour l'euthanasie, mais ils ne sont pas non plus pour la souffrance et la douleur. Si la mort de votre chien peut survenir paisiblement et sans douleur, ce serait la meilleure solution.
