Dans la bibliothèque BNOTP : le style Savannah de Paula Deen
Récemment, nous avons visité la maison de Paula Deen à Savannah. J'ai mentionné dans ce message que même si j'aime beaucoup la maison actuelle de Paula, j'ai vraiment adoré la maison dans laquelle elle vivait auparavant. J'avais vu des photos de cette maison dans le magazine de Paula il y a de nombreuses années.
De plus, Paula a écrit un livre en 2010 et quand il est arrivé, j'étais heureux de voir qu'elle incluait de nombreuses photos de sa propre maison en plus des visites de plusieurs autres belles maisons de Savannah. Bien que je ne puisse pas partager toutes les photos de ce livre pour des raisons évidentes, j'ai numérisé quatre photos pour vous donner une idée de l'apparence de son ancienne maison. Elle dégageait une atmosphère plus décontractée que sa maison actuelle, plus personnelle.

3 choses que j'aime dans ce livre :
- La photographie est merveilleuse ! Le livre est divisé selon les quatre saisons : printemps, été, automne et hiver. Chaque section est divisée en différents sujets et tous sont agréables et amusants à lire. Certains des sujets abordés par Paula sont : Porch Livin' (j'ai adoré tous les porches de ce livre !) Courtyard Gardens, Wrought Iron, Wicker, Music Rooms, Book Nooks, Silver & Savanes, trésors du marché aux puces, tables et décorations de fêtes, chambres confortables, cuisines avec coin repas, objets artisanaux et meubles en coquillages et bien plus encore. La maison de Paula est intercalée tout au long du livre avec d'autres maisons présentéesdans le livre.
- En plus de la magnifique maison de Paula, nous pouvons visiter plusieurs autres magnifiques maisons à Savannah, y compris des cottages absolument adorables à Tybee Island. Ce livre est donc un mélange de chambres élégantes, de chambres de cottage, de cabanes restaurées, de maisons historiques de Savannah et de magnifiques cottages insulaires. Tant de belles pièces !
- Paula nous emmène dans une cabane de quai rustique qu'elle a restaurée et c'est charmant.
J'aime la façon dont le livre est écrit parce que c'est Paula qui nous parle comme si nous sommes assis avec elle à la table de sa cuisine pour discuter. Sa personnalité sincère transparaît vraiment dans ce livre.

C'était sa cuisine dans son ancienne maison. J'ai vraiment aimé la cheminée ici. La hotte au-dessus du poêle est très différente de sa hotte en cuivre sur mesure actuelle. Elle aime toujours avoir une table dans la cuisine, comme c'était le cas autrefois. Elle explique pourquoi dans ce livre.
